ACT Work Ready Community Presentation
UNION PARISH, A WORK READY COMMUNITYPresentation at Chamber's Monthly LuncheonAugust 20, 11:45 at Claiborne ElectricWe are very excited to have Angie White & Liz Pierre, North Louisiana Economic Partnership, make a presentation at our Chamber's monthly luncheon about our new project to make Union Parish a "Work Ready Community".
This is a collaborative effort by the City of Farmerville, Police Jury, UP School Board, Delta Community College, Foster Farms, Workforce Development 83, D'Arbonne Woods Charter School, Downsville Charter School and the Chamber of Commerce.
We all have a stake in making our parish more competitive and closing the skills loop that hamper our economy. Change starts at the grassroots level, supported by a community-based framework. Our job is to bring the Union Parish employers into this parish wide project, educate them on the results of Works Keys Testing, the significance of the certifications earned and get the employers participation in this project. Our goal is to provide that framework for better prepared applicants for our area employers. This is a big deal for our parish. To every employer, please mark your calendar, click on "Register Now" for this event and make plans to attend this very informative "Lunch & Learn" at Claiborne Electric at 11:45 on August 20th.
Please contact the Chamber Office 318-368-3947 or via email: mona@unionparishchamber.org so we can get a head count.Date and Time
